Welcome to the website for the University of West Los Angeles (“UWLA”). UWLA is an outstanding community based university featuring a School of Law and a School of Business. Our School of Law offers a Juris Doctor degree and has been preparing quality professional lawyers for over fifty years. Our School of Business offers two programs: a Bachelor’s completion degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Business Innovation.

I am delighted to announce that The University of West Los Angeles (“UWLA”) has been recognized as a Candidate for Accreditation by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), 985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, CA 94501, 510-748-9001. This status is a preliminary affiliation with the Commission awarded for a maximum period of five years. Candidacy is an indication that the institution is progressing toward Initial Accreditation. Candidacy is not Accreditation and does not ensure eventual Accreditation. The UWLA community has worked very hard to achieve this accomplishment. Our highest priority is to demonstrate compliance with all WASC standards to acquire full accreditation.

By providing classes convenient for the schedules of busy women and men, UWLA seeks to achieve its mission of offering quality affordable education, in particular, to those who have work/family responsibilities while they are pursuing their education. We also pride ourselves on the outstanding professors who teach at UWLA. UWLA seeks to attract professors that are accomplished practitioners in their disciplines in addition to being outstanding academicians.

We want our students to acquire an education in law or business that prepares them to be able to tackle the real world problems that will be on the front page of tomorrow’s newspapers. We pride ourselves in preparing leaders and innovators in law and business. Though our curriculum and programs are very rigorous, they are designed to lead students to evolve and expand their professional and personal capabilities. Our professors seek to challenge our students to bring out the best in themselves. UWLA has integrated technology and online learning with in class participation and interaction to form a dynamic learning environment for our students and our learning community.
