UWLA Prof. Marjanian Comments on UWLA Panel Chat 'We can’t Remain Silent…the Fierce Urgency of Now!' focusing on the Arminian crisis"
December 1st, 2020
Dear panelists and host,
Thank you for participating in UWLA’s panel Chat “We can’t Remain Silent…the Fierce Urgency of Now!” focusing on the Arminian crisis. Your participation was well received and the donation of your time and personal thoughtfulness on these issues was greatly appreciated, especially in these uncertain times both globally and nationally.
We had about eighty viewers during our Zoom panel discussion but a much larger viewership within social media. To date on Facebook we reached 6,596 people and had over 2,900 views, with 68 individuals sharing the video of the panel by posting it within their own Facebook timeline as well. On YouTube the discussion has been viewed 92 times by 88 separate individuals.
Some of the comments we have received:
“Phenomenal discussion extremely informative and heartfelt ...Thank you for courage and honesty.”
“Thank you for this wonderful program! I’m proud to be a UWLA student!”
“Great to see our Father Vazken part of this! God bless you all for bringing this discussion and topic in focus.”
Personal testimonial from Professor Marjanian:
“The Panel Chat was a very informative and educational program for me, even as someone who is Armenian and attended a private Armenian school from kindergarten through graduating high school. All of the panel members taught me something that I did not previously know about the Armenian history, the Armenian culture, and more specifically, the current issues taking place in Artsakh and Azerbaijan. Upon receiving notice of what is taking place in Artsakh, UWLA, with the leadership of President Robert W. Brown, immediately coordinated an emergency committee to address how the University would be able to help spread awareness and provide humanitarian aid to those persons fighting on the front lines in Artsakh. Many people in the community reached out to me stating that they were able to spread awareness to their communities by sharing the panel chat and spreading the word. Without UWLA, none of this would have been possible!”
The video may be viewed on UWLA’s Facebook as well as on UWLA’s YouTube. Also, the Armenia Fund on behalf of UWLA has collected $3,225 but it is still not too late to donate or request additional donations. https://
Please also remember that UWLA has now offered a “Crisis in Armenia” Scholarship. The terms as communicated within the Zoom panel discussion were:
“Please email your interest in applying yourself or recommending someone for UWLA’s 100% tuition “Crisis in Armenia” scholarship to any UWLA program (UWLA offers a JD from its Law School and a BS and MS from its Business School) Our Panel members from today, will select the recipient of this scholarship with the only restriction being that the recipient must be currently living within Armenia.”
So far to date we have received two inquiries about the scholarship to our dedicated email, Armenia@uwla.edu.
Please help us get out the word on the scholarship and please also help us determine the time line for selection (i.e. for the upcoming Spring 2021 semester or the upcoming Fall 2021 semester) and please further indicate to us if you have a continued willingness to participate in the selection process for the scholarship.
Again, sincerely thank you.
From your extended UWLA family.
