Prof. Lilit Seleck

Professor Seleck is a uniquely credentialed attorney and legal educator practicing at Petrullo, APC, a corporate defense and trial law group, where she specializes in medical malpractice, professional negligence, wrongful death, and elder abuse litigation. Her deep expertise is grounded in a rare dual background: she holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD), earning Summa Cum Laude in Yerevan, Armenia, followed by ECFMG certification in the USA, and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of West Los Angeles. Exceptionally driven, she successfully balanced her legal studies with a full-time career in medicine and raising her son, ultimately graduating with three Witkin Academic Awards, including honors for excellence in civil procedure.

Her legal experience spans both plaintiff representation and institutional healthcare defense. A passionate educator throughout her career, she actively teaches at her alma mater, the University of West Los Angeles. Her dedication to teaching began at just 19y/o, lecturing on surgical and clinical pharmacology as a third-year medical student in Yerevan. She later served as Assistant Dean of the Medical Faculty at the Armenian Medical Institute and spent nearly eight years at Keck Hospital of USC providing clinical documentation training to physicians and residents.

Fluent in four languages (English, Armenian, Russian, and French), Professor Seleck brings a sharply analytical and globally informed perspective to both her legal practice and the classroom. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, traveling the world, and exploring different cultures.
