Prof. Jay Frykberg

Biography: Provost Frykberg is also the Dean for the School of Law has been teaching as a Professor of Law for over the past two decades. He is currently teaching: Contracts as a 1L course, Evidence as a 2L course and Remedies as a 3L course, so that he is available to all UWLA School of Law students. He is also serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer for the university. Outside of UWLA, he has served as a Special Master for the State Bar of California, Committee Chair and Committee Member of the State Bar of California CSBARS (California State Bar Accredited and Registered Law Schools), Co-Chair – CALS (California Accredited Law Schools), and as a Panelist or Reviewer for multiple State Bar of California projects. Professor Frykberg was previously engaged in the private practice of law before being appointed Associate Dean in 2008, Dean in 2013 and Provost in 2020. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Outside of his professional capacity, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his family, welding, machining, fabricating, and working on anything mechanical in nature.
